after an absolute age, I have finally got my two Black Sun 1/48 Vipers finished. These are my first resin models and I enjoyed them. Both vipers were built OOB and the base is home made. Let me know what you think![Y]

How did you prepare the surface for painting? I have one of these and some of the paint flaked off. I guess I didn’t wash it good enough.

Very good job. The vipers look good and the base makes them stand out.
I can imagine someone else doing the same thing and ading a hidden switch that plays the music from the show.

Resin tends to have some very persistant mold release chemicals on it. I used to build and paint alot of Armorcast stuff back in my Warhammer 40k playing days, and got very used to resin.
First, find a product called Wesley’s Bleche-Wite (i know it’s misspelled, they did that, not me!) It’s a tire cleaner you can get at most auto parts stores. Dilute it in a bucket of water, soak the parts, then give 'em a light scrub with an old tooth brush. Pine-sol and warm water have worked for me in a pinch, but the Bleche-Wite is the best stuff I have ever used.
Secondly, resin really likes a good primer. At said auto parts store, look into Duplicolor automotive primer. Comes in a few different colors (I like neutral grey or red oxide), is sandable, and sticks well to plastic, resin, and metal.
