What is the biggest, absolutely most humongous injection molded kit ever, who makes it, and where can I find it?
My guess is Revell’s 1/48 B-52 kit, or their B-36 kit.

im pretty sure the trumpeter tu-160 is bigger.
Last I knew it was the 1/72 scale B-36 by Revell-Monogram. 3 foot wingspan.
I think the Italeri C-130 has a 3’ wing span as well. The Revell of Germany B-1 is almost 3’ long by 3’ wingspan. I don’t even have shelf space for a 1/32 Hornet, let alone one of those monsters!
From what ive read, doing some reaserch since i read this thread it looks like the revell B-1B is the biggest injection kit out there. Also i beleve the B-36 revell/germany has been discontinued.
I think the 1/48 B-1B takes the cake as the largest injection molded kit ever made. However, if you want to see MASSIVE look at some of the vacuform kits available hehe
The Revell1/48 B-1 is the the one.
Thanks guys! Looks like I might get both the B-36 and B-1 to start my collection, I plane on covering my ceiling with them! Next on the list: 1/48 B-29, B-17G and F, B-52.
Monogram made the B-52 in 1/72 , a good size kit . The Monogram 1/48 B-29 has been hanging from my ceiling for about 15 yrs now (35" wingspan ), oh the dust !

The Revell B1 is certainly the biggest IM kit that I have seen, its massive! If you are serious about building that thing, I hope you have lots of workspace. Darren.
The 1/72 scale B-36 has a wingspan of 38.3 inches. This is the largest wingspan injection-molded kit out there. There is one larger vacuum formed kit, a 1/72 scale Spruce Goose (wingspan of 53.3 inches). Next largest available in kit form is a C-5 vac kit and an An-22 fiberglass and injection plastic kit (both smaller than the B-36).
The 1/48 scale B-1 has a wingspan of 34.2 inches.

I was wondering about the wingspan of the 1/72 B-36 , its hanging just above my B-29 and looked to have greater wingspan than the B-29 ,but i didnt dare take it down to measure it .
B-36 : 6 turning and 4 burning .

Yeah, I love the “magnesium overcast.” It’s so weird, yet so effective.
Wasnt the B-36 known as "the big Stick ", due to its capability of striking the USSR ,back in early days of the cold war ?

That thing had a huge range. I knew someone who did time on one and he said they used to fly from Texas to Washington to Texas non stop. Sometimes they would turn left at Washington and fly into Russia to test their reaction times. When they got their fighters heading their way, they would climb out of their reach and head home. Imagine how far they could go if they had air refueling.
Popular in Europe, paper planes: B-29 Superfortress in 1/33… 1.3M wingspan… thats 51" http://www.moduni.de/product_info.php/products_id/6130200 bought some to practice on, but not started yet… Jon UK
I thought a C-5 is bigger then the Spruce Goose…I’m going to have to look that one up.
Wingspan of a C-5 223 feet, length 247

Wingspan of the Spruce Goose: 319 feet, length 218

So it just depends on which dimension you take to compare if the C-5 is smaller or bigger.
I never realised that the Spruce Goose what that big!
Yes - I’ve got kits of both in 1/72, and I’m trying to figure out where I’ll put them when I build them - I suggested the living room to my wife but she told me where to stick 'em instead.
And then there’s the An-225. Wingspan 291, length 276. Rumor has it that AModel might come out with a 1/144 model of this. I’ve got decent plans for it and the An-124 - I’m going to try to scratchbuild both in 1/72.
A bit out of date (doesn’t include the Airbus A380) but here’s a list of planes with wingspans over 50m:

Big planes are cool! Wish we had more models available of large planes in 1/72.

I agree Bruce . I just dont know what to do with them after their built .
