BF109F-2

Hello lads,

this is a picture of my recently finnished 1/32 scale Bf109F-2.
I will yuo tell you some details about how i made it in a next post

this is the picture, what do you guys think of the kit?

I like the camoflage. Extremely interesting. Well done!! What kit is it?

Looks real good, Thijs, a unique paint scheme…

Regards, Dan

Wow is that camo wild or what? You’ve done a good job there. I do have a suggestion for you. If you’ll notice, you can see the gray plastic on the inboard ailerons, slats and flaps. A little touch up in those areas would make a much more convincing model. Thank you for sharing your excellent work.

Steve

Nice work. The camo is very well done. I assume that’s the Hasegawa kit ?

Regards, Rick

Very nice, that looks like it was alot of fun.The 109 has always been a favorite![^]

Hiya thijs,
Which kit is this again?? Hasegawa?? I would agree with a few other gents, the paint scheme fits her!!
What did you think of the over all kit and build??
Thanks for sharing…
Flaps up, Mike

Cool camo, compliments your fine build.

Hello guys,
This kit is the Hasegawa G-6 kit indeed and some extra’s, The Aires BF109F-2/F-4 conversion, Aeromaster Decals, Eduard Express masks for the Balkankreuzes and home made masks for the “chevron circle” technical officer signs.
About the kit: This is my third 1/32 BF109. My first two were the Revell Germany Bf109G-4/Trop. This hasegawa kit is practicly the same except you get the two ammobox things infront of the cockpit with it while the revell one only gives you the one on the right. I think paying 15 euro’s more for only that G-6 bulges is a bit much, the decasl you get with theG-6 are terrible too, it might be that i have aold box but they were extremly thick. I didn’t use any decals from the G-6 kit, I only used the decals from the Aeromaster decal set.
Talking of which:with a bit of micro set & sol they look like they are painted on the kit.
I had to change the chevron circle ( < 0 ) becasue they were wrong in the decals. In real they had much wider lines than the decals had ( I think Stab and I./JG3 who had them this wide) the chevron wasen’t too hard to make with a bit of masking tape, the Circle was absolutly horrific to make but i think the result is quite well.
Aires BF109F-2 converion. The aires converion givers you a fully detailed cockpit resin, including seatbelts, rudderpedals etc. It also comes with F series wheel, F series nose, propellor blades, a trop filter and canopies for the F series 109. It was my first experience with both resin parts as photo tched details, it cost me alot of time to get the cockpit to fit into the kit, all together i spend about 15 hours to assemble the cockpit and get it into the kit.
Eduard express masks: The masks for the crosses worked like a dream, I really like them since you can just spray the crosses on in stead of decals, now you kep seeing the detail on the wings and this sometimes is a bit problematic with decals.

About the history of this aeroplane: It’s a bF109F-2 (werkenummer 6601) flown by Lt. Detlev Rohwer (38 victory ace)in the summer of 1941when he flew for Stab./JG3 as technical officer.
THis camo is unique indeed, as far as I can tell and i really like it. here’s a reference photo i used:

I will upload some more pictures soon
