Best white glue to make clear windows

I had a window pop out of my He111 B bomber that I am building and since the fusaluge halves are already joined, there is no way to insert the window from within (the window must go in through the inside and cannot be attached from the outside).

I tried filling in the window area with Elmer’s White glue, but it dries more of a smokey fog color that is not transparent like the clear window beside it.

I have noticed that Testor’s has a tube that says it is white glue, but I think it is just Elmer’s in a Testor’s tube.

Is there any other brand that can be used that will dry as a clear transparent surface that will allow one to see into the plane?

Microscale makes a product called Micro Kristal Klear that may fill the bill. Looks like she glue but does not dry foggy. I’ve used it with good results. Its for small windows about 1/4" but I’ve seen slightly larger achieved

I don’t know about Testors white tube glue but I do have Testors Clear Parts Cement and Window Maker in the plastic bottle. I usually just use it for attaching clear parts but I did use it one time for making a really small window…possibly 1/8 inch…and it worked well for that. It might depend a great deal on how big the window is that you need to make.

While I know it may be just a modified white glue, I second the Micro Scale Kristal Klear. I am using a bottle of the Testors transparency stuff now, and it is definitely better than regular white glue, but maybe not quite as good as the Micro Scale stuff.

Three cheers for Kristal Klear!!

I wasn’t thrilled with Testors Window Maker. It seemed to come out a bit too foggy and yellowish for my liking. I haven’t tried the Kristal Klear yet.

When I built the old Revellogram P-38, I did the photo recon version and cut windows in the nose. I made windows with Mod Podge. It’s a thick glue used for puzzles n stuff. You can get it at arts n craft stores. It came out fairly clear and seems a little tougher than the Testors Window Maker. I put Scotch tape on the inside of the fuselage, poured the Mod Podge in like a mold, let it dry and removed the tape. Worked ok for me. YMMV.
