I’ve read many times that you should rarely follow the instruction sheet’s paint scheme for aircraft. Does anyone know of a good modeling site that gives paint schemes for aircraft? TIA…
Don Color web site has very acurate paint schemes from WWII to modern aircraft. The site provides three-view drawings of aircraft for refernce, the correct FS colors to use and you can email Don Color with questions about color schemes. You can even order his exclusive acrylic paints online.
hey pm992,
have you got the link or web address for that site please?[:)]

The link is http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/emain.htm
I just looked it up through Google. His site is pretty cool…all the reference colors are listed for each paint scheme for many countries and fo different eras. Includes ships, planes, armour.
I fumbled around a bit looking for the schemes but if you choose aircraft, then a country, then an era, then a scheme - the color reference will come-up as well as a small link directly below it showing the pattern on the specified aircraft.
Hope this helps.
