As a few of you know I’m returning to the hobby after a 9 year break. Since then all the places and websites that I knew that had phot etch and detail sets have either vanished or gone away. I’ve been googling for the past 2 days with very little luck, I’m trying to find sites that sell Photo Etch and detail kits. Right now I’m looking for 1/700 scale carrier part as I have the Lincoln, Kitty Hawk and the JFK about to enter the slipways. But I also build armor and aircraft so all the recommendations possible would be greatly appreciated.
Surprisingly enough I have found some photo-etch available on the Walmart website in the past. I assume it’s third party sellers and can’t remember if it was well known brands or no-name stuff. I do seem to recall they had generic sets for railing and the like, not sure about specific detail sets.

Squadron obtained Gold Medal Models on the retirement of Loren Perry. They have been impacted by the closure of several of the etcher’s who Loren used and in one case even lost the original artwork. That said, look to see what you can find at squadron.com.
I’m going to say that most armor PE is of European or Asian manufacture. Check Hannants in England. Their selection of manufacturers is pretty wide
I have been getting lucky with squadron lately. Been buying a lot of detail kits from there lately. Just search the model you working on and it will show all of the accessories for that particular model.
