for the a5 and a6 it would be tamiya and for the a4 it would be revell germany.
Anthony, do you just want to build the Leo II? If so then Tamiya’s is pretty good! If the A5 or the A6, then Tamiya again!
ok, ya, I wanted a A6, so Tamiya it is!
Anthony,I’v just built Tamiya’s A6 and it went together great. You wont go wrong spending your money on one of those.
The only thing I added was the Voyager PE turret basket mesh set as the kit comes with the black plastic stuff and I’v never got on very well with that.
where have you been Anthony? Tamiya as glyn said and as for the voyager set, wow its great.I have them for my Faun tank transporter.
Terry.
Do I need to apply anti-slip on the hull and turret?? I was looking at the pics of the parts, and I thought that it had it on, but I was talking with James and he says that’s a different type of anti slip, I still have to apply it.
I don’t really feel like searching through pics to find out the location of the anti slip, but if its on the model I cant build it without it.
Thanks.
that’s right anthony, only the upper hull has the antislip on it, the turret does not! but the actual tank has a fine grit like the abrams
Tamiya’s Leo II A6 is your choice! I built one before and it went together great, proto-typical Tamiya. But still two things to watch out for!
I should’ve bought either the Voyager or Tamiya’s own phto-etched set for the baskets. The kit comes with a mesh and you have to cut it to size, then super-glue them to the tank. Let me tell you DO NOT DO THIS!!! It’s a pain in the you know where if you go this route! The baskets are small and the mesh seriously WILL NOT wrap themselves around them even with encouragement from super glue! I almost ruined the entier basket trying to do this and the end result still look kind of ridiculous! I had to use every trick in the book to hide it and only marginally did it!
The NATO paint scheme. For anyone who paint alot of NATO paint scheme, this should be familar territory. For some of us who doesn’t do it alot, it can be a PAIN and the thing is, Tamiya Leo II A6 only comes in that format and since the paint scheme is standarized, you have to follow the instructions if you want to be accurate. What I did was to follow the FSM review when the tank first came out, blew up the instruction to 1/1 (or 1/35 scale hehe) scale similar to the tank and then cut out the various patterns, taped it to the tank and then airbrush it. It’s either that or I don’t think it will come out right! If someone have a better suggestion, you are more than welcome!
Other than that, it should go together pretty quick! I completed mine OOB in less than a week because I din’t need any fillers or any of that crap at all! Good luck!
got the a4 n a6 from revell n they are… well pretty bad compared to my tamiya a5.
