I’ve been using a traditional goodneck lamp with an LED bulb and would much rather have perhaps an 18 - 24 in wide table LED lamp - similar to an old bankers style lamp (old long flourescent bulb/18 inch type). I just installed a 32 inch LED above my garage workbench and could not believe the clarity/brilliant light - I need that big time as my aging eyes strain. Any recommendations? As always - thanks - and I can’t use the clamp type LED lights I see on Amazon - just a regular, LED-wide type hobby light that will sit upright on my hobby desk. THANKS fellow Modelers!
I like counterbalanced repositionable lamps. I move the lamp to a different position to help painting, not where I have it over bench for other work. I have a repositional fluorescent now, but looking for an LED version because starter is going bad on that one. I’ll reply here if I find one.
Hi;
Are you in the U.K.? Are OTT lights available there? If so Here’s what I have . I have two OTT Single Tube lights.One on each sideof my work area. I have an OTT round lite in the center overhangong my central workstation. I use their " Natural " Light bulbs. This way my color needs are in the Normal range.
I control them by having them connected to a Powerstrip with Overload feature. I turn the strip on instead of each individual light.
Those long LED lamps are unreal! I was at a house the other day where he had replaced old 8’ tube style flourescents with those as well as the ones in his garage (showroom) and the light they give off is amazing! I’m not sure what color he was using but for modeling, especially if you will be painting, I think you might want daylight color temp. I saw some that replace can lights and those had a selector switch.
