I am looking at a JT for my next project - what is the best kit, and the best PE and barrel for it?

What scale?
If you’re looking for a 1/35 scale kit, either of the Dragon Jagdtiger variations (Porsche or Henschel suspension) are great. Revell has reboxed one of those kits, too. The Henschel, maybe? Not sure.

Best barrel? Eduard or FineMolds.

Best PE? Aber. Lion Roar is really good, too.

There are bound to be plenty of other opinions as to what is “best,” but here’s a coupla quick answers for you. [:D]

Well, let’s see, there’s the Dragon, or the Revell, which is a reboxed Dragon … or the other Dragon.

Not a lot of choice in 35th!

A company called Anvil Miniatures made a really swell barrel for the Dragon kit, complete with rifling, but they are out of business. Might not hurt to poke around the net and eBay to find it, but I’m sure there are other AM barrels that are also fine.

the Dragon Jagdtiger is the best, the Revel one is the Henshel version and it is a rebox of the Dragon one, its the same but with out a little PE fret
dont even think about the Tamiya jagdtiger, its i pile of p##, its too short and very old

Phill Stutcinskas builds them in the new Tamiya Model paper( not aloud to say the full name)

im working on the dragon 1/35 jagdtiger right now and its one of the most detailed kits ive ever built. it comes with PE grilles and the barrel isnt that bad. the individual tracks are not that hard to assemble either. overall its a great kit and id highly recomend.

I believe Nichimo made one, but I bet you’ll only find it on Evil-bay. I’m not sure of the quality though, but the brand made some decent kits.

Dragon does a very nice one in … 1/72 Sorry just had to add that. Its almost like a scaled down version of the 1/35th one

Actually i know a dealer who has a nichimano kit on his shelves, unopened. If anybody would like it i can pick it up and send it to you. Bill
