Just wondering what is the best Huey kit out there (1/48 or 1/32-35 scale)?
and where is the best place to get these kits.
I going on hols to Fort lauderdale/Miami area next week, so if anyone knows of some stores I could check out it would be much appreciated.
Oh I’ll be in vegas for two days the start of december too.
Thanks
James
Best UH1D/H kit is still the 1/32nd Revell from late 70’s or early 80’s. MRC/Academy has the best B/C model in 1/35th scale. New Panda D/H and N models 1/35th are not that good, however, are only ones in 35th scale. Can be nice with some work. Don’t know about 1/48th or smaller scales, I don’t build them.
Howdy HomagerMan!
HeavyArty is right…
The best 1/32 UH1-D and 1/32 AH-G Cobra where the Revell kits from 1967 and up. Now they are Revell of Germany kits but you can find plenty of those kits on EBAY for 10.00 to 25.00!
They also did a OV loach in 1/32 scale.
Cobra Concepts makes some real nice after market resin kits for the Revell 1/32 scale line INCLUDING a really cool cockpit and front turret set for the 1/32 scale COBRA!
The best UH1-B are the 1/35 MRC kits! VERY NICE STUFF!
1/48 kits are out there …not sure about quality though.
Good luck!
Thanks lads
I was looking at the revell kit on e-hobbies and the price was right but it would cost a lot more for shipping and handling. $16.99 for the model and $44.99 for s&h to Ireland.

I have a couple of AMT/ERTL’s 1/48 Hueys that look pretty good. Some modifications must be made for accuracy’s sake (see other comments in the helicopter forum) but they’re not too bad kit-wise for a smaller scale Huey.
I got basically the same kit in two different boxes: one from Rescue: 911 (love Shatner!) and one with a Vietnam illustration on the box front. Hope this helps…
The best kit by far is the ESCI/ERTL/AMT 1/48 or 1/72 scale!!!
