Best color for modern carrier flight deck

Modern Nimitz/Ford class carriers have a flight deck coating that seems to change not just over time, but by time of day
There used to be a paint called “rubber” that had a brownish cast to the black base. It was an effective color but I can’t find it anymore.
I suspect to get the right effect it will take “washing”, especially along the landing line to match the effect of the tires. But the base color of the deck isn’t just a plan black. No FS number for it.

Depends on if you want the flight deck looking like new if the carrier was just launched/commissioned, or if you want the flight deck looking heavily used/worn.

I’ve heard a lot of modelers like to use a TAMIYA German Grey color.
For my modern carrier I am building, I used Vallejo spray #28002 Panzer Grey.
Now if you really want to get accurate with colors, Squadron website carries ScaleColors brand paint. There should be a color in that line for modern US Navy flight decks. Check it out.
And contrary to popular belief, carrier decks are NOT painted black.
