Best 1/48 scale F-16 out there?

Hi, I am looking for a good F-16 1/48 scale to build. Any opinion on the best one to buy? Would like to do aVermont Green Mountain Boys decals if I can find them Thanks,

I am no expert but the Hasegawa kits are pretty good. Maybe Academy or another is making the best one now, I am not sure.

Like anything you’ll get all kinds of opinions but it seems to me that the Tamiya Block 25/32 or the Tamiya Block 50 kits are generally considered the best 1/48 F-16s out there.

Having just completed one I’d also vote for the Tamiya offering [tup]

In typical Tamiya fashion it went together quickly and painlessly and the detail is outstanding.

I just ordered a Tamiya Block 25/32. Planning on doing the Two Bobs Vermont ANG Green Mountain Boys decals with it.

I got the new Squadron Flyer yesterday and they have the Tamiya F-16CJ on sale for 35.99, down from 60.00

i agree with everyone tamiya is one of the best out there u could also try kinetic they got good quality ive build one already from kinetic the f-16 barak have fun when u get urs [{(-_-)}]

I found the Kinetic F-16’s to have lots of shape and fit issues. I agree to go with the Tamiya F-16 kits.

I suppose it all depends upon which variant you want. Choices are limited in some areas.

I built a Tamiya kit a while back… I thought it was everything anyone could ask for from an F-16 kit.

I would get some aftermarket decals though… The ones in the kit are nice, but boring.

Are all the Tamiya 1/48 scale F-16 kits created equal? If yes, when was the original release date of the Tamiya kit? If not, what are the Tamiya model numbers to avoid?

Nope. The ones being gushed about on this post were released recently, not 100% sure but within the past 5-6 years or so. I think they started with the Block 50 and started filling in from there. They have an awesome F-16C done in aggressor colors and a Block 25/32 kit. I’ve built 1 have 1 on the bench and 3 more in the closet. Once I built the first one I was hooked. This is a superb kit. Almost as good as AM’s Avenger.
