Belly Tanks

I’m looking for belly tanks that are the ‘long range’ tanks for the P-47, P-51 and P-38 aircraft. The ones in the kits are not big enough and I don’t have the inclination to ‘scrath build’ them. The tanks for the P-47 were flat, fat and egg shaped. The P-51/38’s were longer for increased range.
Do they exist in the after market arena?

search http://www.squadron.com or http://www.greatmodels.com for your desired scale and aircraft and you may find what you are looking for.

I get their catalogs and haven’t seen them in either. But thanks for the tip; may have over looked them at my age.

What scale are you looking for?

Just a quick FYI - the big flat P-47 belly tanks weren’t used in the Pacific. If you’re building a Pacific Jug, they generally used the tear-drop shaped 80 gallon belly tanks.

I have an old Revell P-47D (1/32nd) and I’m doing it as Gabreski’s a/c and also a P-51 for Yeager in the same scale.
