Before I close the Tank's fuselage . . .

I figured I’d take a couple pics before the cockpit becomes less visible. The cowl panels will be open, so only the top and nose of the Jumo 213E-1 will “disappear.”

This is Dragon’s 1/48 Focke-Wulf Ta 152H-1 with added Eduard photoetch. I’ve also added wiring and plumbing from fine wire and solder. The cannon (mounted at the rear of the engine) is white metal, from a Trimaster Me 262 kit. The engine is a pretty tight squeeze !

Fabulous work on the 152. The detail that you put into your models just blows my mind. I do have one question. Why doesn’t the bore sight on the gun line up with the center of the prop? It looks like it would be firing out below the prop!

that looks great Pix
all your work its top notch

Excellent work… A standard for us to strive to reach… [;)]

Impeccable as always.

Steve

Looks sehr gut, Pix! Bee-yoo-tee-full…

I’ve sent a reply to your query and am still searching, by the way…

Fade to Black…

All I can say is WOW!!! What’s the chances of a pic of the underside? Great job again Pix.

Jerry

Fantastic work Pix. Really a great build.

Regards, Rick

Fantastic work keep us posted I can’t wait to see the finished model.

What a shame to hide that work! But modeling goes on!

Dan

awesome job as usual. Does the cannon fire through the center of the propeller on the ta 152? thanks pix.

Awesome… I like the details… Thanks for sharing…

Dang, son. This is one of the better beginnings for you, Bill. Can’t wait to see this one done.

OH MY GOD! you are the master! that looks just awesome, as they say on my town: ERES UN CHINGON, FELICIDADES!!!

Thank you very much yardbird, Captain, mikeiw, crockett, Steve-O, Jerry, Rick, mkhoot, Dan, Matthew, zeroenna, Keyworth, and mandrake !

yardbird - it may be off a little, but it’s not going to bother me. I doubt it will be noticible on the finished bird. None of my builds are flawless, there are countless boo-boos in every one.

Jerry - here’s a pic of the underside, just after I Tenaxed the fuselage halves together.

And this shot shows how much of the engine will be visible on the sides.

The Tenax is still in the seams, and the seam will be sanded tomorrow (I’ve done enough work for the day).

Matthew - the cannon fires through the spinner. It’s not represented well in the molded spinner, so I may replace it with some brass tube.

Since the cowling will be open, I need to have a reason for it. I’m not a fan of models that are “opened up” just to show detail. That just seems a little too “showy” for me. I’ll have this one parked on a piece of tarmac, with a Blackbird (Luftwaffe maintenance person) and an officer. The officer is from the ProModeler He 111H-22 kit (the one with the V-1), and the blackbird is from a Trimaster Me 262. They have just received basic painting. Still a lot more brushwork to go on them !

Thanks again !

Always a delight viewing your work. When does the book “Pixilaters guide to the plastic fantastic” come out? I’ll buy a copy for sure!

Wonderful job on the 152 pix. Can’t wait to see more.

Thanks Simon and falcon !

Simon - I will be starting a website soon. I have the webspace and the HTML page creating software. I just need to figure out how to create the pages. I’ll also be offering to do comission builds.

Thanks again !

[8D][tup]Wow, that is very sharp indeed!

Beautiful job, ever think of doing a cutaway model?
