What have you used to create the dust clouds? Looks like a really interesting medium, mouldable, dries hard, durable and still lets light through?

Create a mold with heat activated clay then cast with UV resin

Really old japanese mecha anime from the 80s

You’ll have to forgive my ancientness. It’s a beautiful model, but is beyond my limited understanding. I’m going to have to do some research on the subject matter. Any suggestions for expanding a calcified mind? I’m sincerely seeking to understand the artform.

Scifi Mecha is a popular category of model building in asia, look up keyword like “Gunpla” and u will see a huge collection of various kits

This is a really cool looking- the stylish photos, the dramatic pose, the intricate base and the bold colors all add up to a striking piece of work.

Thx, just trying to recapture the vibe when you flip through a modeling magazine from the 90s , the type of photography, mood and pose

I really like your build style but also the painting style as well.

Wow, those photos look like they were from the covers of Hobby Japan! Really excellent modeling, finishing, diorama composition and photography!

Votoms is an interesting series. It came out in the beginning of the “Real Robot’” boom of the 1980s and was fairly popular. Lots of really cool shows came and went, but Votoms never left the party. Despite no recent video media, new model kits continue to appear and seem to sell well. It just doesn’t get the kind of attention that Gundam gets.
