Balsa Wood Model Sites or DVDs

Does anyone know of a site for balsa wood model builders or DVD on the subject? Would like to give it a go again. Its been about 45 years since I built these with my dad.

Thanks

http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/default.asp This is a pay site, if you want to post. One of the best for SCALE work.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/index.cfm This is a GREAT general purpose RC site for just about everything.

http://www.daveplattmodels.com/Videos/index.htm Dave has some of the best instructional videos available

And there are tons of youtube videos for us balsa bashers too.

I don’t have the URL handy, but Penn Valley Hobbies is a great source. Just google the name. I have tried it several times and always found it that way. They primarily deal with the “stick model” flying models, but do have a couple of “solid models.”

Then google “balsa model airplanes” and you will get a BIG bunch of hits, from vendors to clubs to sites with tips and blogs.

I should have also mentioned EasyBuilt models. Their web site is at http://www.easybuiltmodels.com/

They have a very large line of models.

Also, Dumas has a line of rubber flying models- don’t have their site handy.

Try Mikes Flying Scale Model Pages: http://www.ffscale.co.uk/

Also I forgot the solid scale modeling Yahoo group. Not flying models, but dedicated to the shelf scale modeling before plastic (yeah, I am old enough to have built those things).

Heh, I remember building an old balsa wood model a long time ago, covering it with a paper material? and having to coat it with “dope”???

Here’s ONE and ANOTHER and HERE’S still one more.

EDIT Here’s a wonderul DCMAXECUTERS CLUB website - look around for some beautiful models.
