Bagley Class Destroyer

My father-in-law served during WW2 on the USS Ralph Talbot, DD390. This was a Bagley Class destroyer. Are there any models available of the Bagley Class ships? I would like to give him a model of his ship. He was very proud to serve on this ship and still maintains contact with some ex-shipmates.

Midships models makes a USS Gridley DD-380 in 1/700 waterline. Its appearance is close to the Gridley class. The kit is designed with the pre-war / early war appearance. The appearance can be altered to a mid-war or late war appearance with a Skywave or Midships parts for WW2 warships kits. To do this replace the quad 1.1 inch guns super firing above the X turret with a twin 40mm bofors. Place a “handle bars” fire control inboard in a bulwark that is elevated above the bofors. Replace the .50 caliber guns forward with single 20mm. Additional 20mm guns are placed at other locations on the ship but, you’ll have to find some pictures at navsource.org, the Navy’s own historical site, or other sites.

If your a good “Googler” you’ll find stuff easily.

Enjoy

Midship models also produces the USS Henley DD-391 in a wartime configuration. These are available from Trident Hobbies (Chris is also Midship).
