Badger repair - disappointing on my Badger 105

I have been a very satisfied Badger Airbrush customer since 1975! I have most of their airbrush models and I appreciate their fine sprayability and what is typically excellent customer service and repair.

Howver, I’ve been very disatisfied regarding the ongoing problems with my trusty Badger 105. It has been returned to fix bubbles in the cup and erratic spraying. It only seems to function properly if I seal around the housing/body opening (where the nozzle sits) with beeswax…not a permanent fix but merely a “band-aid” approach. I advised that the housing/body probably needs to be replaced since the opening for the nozzle apparently is out of specification. They merely cleaned it, replaced nozzle and needle bearing…I attempted to use it and after a few sessions it was again bubbling and erratically spraying.

I have other airbrushes to use, but it bothers me that they can’t fix this airbrush. Now I have to mail it at my cost to (and back from Badger)…the postage investment is getting costly.

I’m a forty five year Badger customer…I’m not giving up on Badger quite yet and hope Ken will intervene and get the housing body replaced with a within specification one.

It’s unfortunate but newly bought 105 issues seems to be going around. Hopfully Badger QC kicks in a bit better.

I gather yours is older though. Well bees wax works, probably not what you want to hear.

I don’t understand, their warranty says that the labor is free, when you advised them to replace the body, did you provide the cost for replacement of the body.It sounds like you are expecting the body to be replaced at no charge.Am my reading correctly,is it a new brush, what is their written policy. Maybe I’m not understanding the problem.

This is from a recent thread of mine and the same problem with mine. The extreme works well but i have to thin whatever i put in the 105. I did send it back and they cleaned it and replaced the needle bearing and i still had bubbling. I called them back, they are very nice but told me i have dry tip and can only make 1 pass then have to wipe the needdle after each pass. Sounds weird to me and a little dissapointing - i never had dry tip w/ my pasche H - ever. I have not tried the wax yet…

Badger should have sent you a new replacement if still having issues with the repaired ab. I had something similar happen to me when the repaired Velocity ab came back. I called the tech and told him it still leaked. He told me to use it as spare parts and he was sending me a new replacement one In the mail that arrived a few days later.
