I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before. I had the cheap plastic Badger Paint booth and the exhaust fan in the back is an oval. Is has been a pain trying to keep the 4" round vinyl or aluminum dryer hose hooked on this thing. for the price, it is a nice little spray booth but the odd shaped vent is trouoble-some. Any suggestion on how I can get the 4" dryer venting to stay on this booth.? Any body know why they would have an oval instead of a round pipe? Any help would be appreciated.
sounds like a marketing thing with badger. can you by any chance replace the oval? or yyou can get thin arodian dryer hose mush it a little and use aluminum tape used for a/c duct work. And see if that works.
Get a piece of plastic or wood and create an oval covering for the booths exhaust vent, then cut a 4" circle in the covering. Stick a 4" collar into the 4" hole.
Then use polyurethane expanding glue to secure them together. (Polyurethane glue holds almost anything and expands into any gaps you might have)
Then stick the dryer hose onto the collar, securing it with a worm clamp and some duct tape. (Using the collar & worm clamp will allow you to remove the hose, if needed, in the future.)
Finish it off with some silicone caulk to seal it up completely.
Thanks guys. I think I will try that wood cap, collar, clamp idea. I am thinking about building one of the hide away benches done in FSM. There is one where it loks like a storage closet when closed but opens up into a nice sized work bench. My wife really likes that idea. This idea with the spray booth will help me keep it stored until needed.
