I mailed my 20 year-old Badger 150 in to them last week and got it back today. I was having splattering problems and being this old, I wanted them to check it out.
I got it back today at work. They totally replaced the trigger assembly and it is super smooth now. They also replaced the medium needle with a new one. Plus they included 2 bottle of their acrylic paints, Bomber Blue and Overland Light Gray. And I cut out a 40% Hobby Lobby coupon off the newspaper they used to pack the box.
I am just so impressed with this service. for about $4 in shipping the airbrush to them, I have a very clean and rebuild brush. I can’t wait to use it later today.
I have to echo your sentiments about thier customer service. I have an Iwata, Grex and Aztec in addtion to my Badger Renegade, but after the service I got from Badger they have a customer for life.
Hats off to Ken and crew at Badger for the service they provide!
A few years ago, i wanted a Badger 100LG. I couldn’t find anybody in my area who could supply one. At the time, Badger was having their online garage sale - but didn’t ship internationally.
I posted on the forum if anybody knew where i could get one, and Ken Badger himself emailed me and arranged to have one sent to me personally.
I can’t speak highly enough about how much Ken must care about his customers. Truly amazing to get that level of personalised service today. You don’t even find that face to face in shops anymore.
Needless to say, i think i’ll now be a badger user for life.
When I was looking to buy my initial AB, Ken “Badger” invited me to call him on his cell phone. I did and we talked for quite a long time in spite of the fact that he was on the road and setting up at a show. Not only was it a companionable chat, I learned a great deal. His attitude towards the competition is refreshing: kind of a we make great stuff and so do X, Y and Z companies.
I followed up and now have a Velocity, a Patriot and an Anthem (as well as a a couple of H&Ss).
I’m still feeling my way in learning how to use them, and I can’t blame the hardware for poor results.
Try calling the President of GM if your looking for a new truck.
I have a Badger 150 also and I love it. The only thing I could think of for a reason to send it out is to replace a certain bushing…name escapes me right now…that needs to be seated with a special tool and is located in the center of the brush somewhere. I had mine replaced once, luckily by an employee of AAA Hobbies (my (not so) local hobby shop). Ive had the "do-it-yourself" attitudewith this A/B..pretty simple to strip and clean and have been able to pick up parts for it at AC Moore and Michaels. Im wondering if I should send mine out for the halibut…if the service price is right , I may just do that.
That will be the Teflon needle bearing (Badger P/N 50-046). It can be user installed, but it’s not recommended. I had to try installing it numerous times before I stumbled upon the right way (which I don’t recall, it really WAS a stumble!).
I’m thinking about sending both my 150 and 100LG in for a tune-up.
I met Ken last year at a show. I cannot echo your sentiments more. Even though he was busy trying to get all set up, he spent some time chatting with me. Then once he was up and running we talked even longer. I ended up buying a 105 Patriot. I had been considering the brush for awhile, but after having the chance to talk to Ken, I was sold. I, too, am a Badger customer for life!
I spent $4.25 mailing the airbrush in with a tracking number. They took care of the parts, labor and shipping back to me. This was a great deal and an awesome service they provide.
I would recommend you send your 150 in to them for a check-out. I really like the bigger trigger they put in.
Thanks Tim. It looks like its time to send my trusty old 150s in for some attention. Both have seen a lot of use over the years. Badger is still the only brand I want even though there are other good brands out there. This one is still made in the USA.
