After years of building 1/72 US Navy aircraft, I stopped when I got my private pilot ticket and started flying for real.
Now, medical reasons have forced me to stay on the ground, so I’m starting modeling again.
I’m starting out with 1/700 scale water line WW 2 US aircraft carriers. I’d like to hear from those who got experience with this type of ship model.

I am a private pilot as well. I am thinking about leeting my medical lapse to persue other interests. However I have always had at least three models under construction at a time. Currently working on Type VIIc u-boat, converting a CJ-7 jeep to a CJ-5. Building a F2G R-4360 Corsair in 1/72 scale, and bulding a metal diesel powred back-hoe for My model rail road. I am planning on selling my Full size gliders in the next year to help fund my new buisness ventures. But I will keep modeling to keep my piece of mind. I lost count of my unassembeld kits at around 700.
