Back at it after 50 years

Purchased an unassembled model at a used book store that I found while the wife was browsing for books. Most times I searched for answers, I would be referred to this site, so thought it would be good to join. Looking forward to picking brains and seeing what others are doing in the modeling world these days. I am pushing 67 and things have changed in the last 50 years! I am now on model number 4, with a bunch of stuff on the shelf waiting for me to start. 1/72 is awful small now…

Welcome! Glad to have you here! I’m with you on the size of 1/72 scale kits. How in the world did I ever build something that small 40 years ago???

Welcome t the forum portugeejn! Can’t wait to see your builds!

Welcome aboard! Nice Huey. Look forward to your builds.

I’ve got this in progress, a CH-46 Sea knight, but I’m pretty sure this will be the last thing in 1/72. That is just too small, and I find myself not enjoying it as much as 1/35 & 1/25.

Welcome back to the bench, and the forum.Tgat looks real good.

Welcome back to the hobby, and welcome to the forum!

Yeah, I use magnification when working with smaller scales. Heck, when working with any scale, really. I recommend it, if you’re not already using some form. I have an Optivisor, but I switched a couple of years ago to a pair of cheap reading glasses from the drugstore. They proved more convenient and practical.

I look forward to seeing that build when you’ve finished!

Best regards,
Brad
