Just wanted to share a technique for cleaning up the plastic before priming. I’ve been using regular baby wipes to clean off any dust and fingerprints. Seems to work pretty well since it contains mild soaps. Be careful though…the cheap brands may leave a little lint behind.
ha ha, i rember usuing baby wipes to clean camo off my face when i came out of the field! i also use them to clean up any stray epoxie that might be on my model at the time.
MARK! I am now living in Wilmington, and have used baby wipes to clean up my son’s 1/72 small soldiers.Small world, not trying to high jack the thread but I live towards the PORTERS NECK area.(LOVE YOUR AVATAR) My Father inlaw(here in town)flew a few of those in his day,and two hang from my seven year old’s ceiling.Sorry for the interruption…back to baby wipes…lol
I’m glad that you guys are having success with those baby-wipes, but be careful: The isopropol alcohol in baby wipes will dry baby’s skin, so they typically add lotions and moisturizers. Once again, it’s hard to argue with a proven technique, but I can imagine that certain oil-based lotions might cause paint-adhesion problems. Just something to consider.
