I’d like to build a 1/48 Liberator B24 J but can only find the b24D from Monogram. (made a D in 1/72) Can I get the clear parts for the nose and turret of a B24J to convert the model anywhere?[?]
cheers

PS Thanks to everyone who helped with my queries about the Blenheim Mk IV ages ago, she’s nearly finished !
just wish i hadn’t sanded the window bulge by mistake, Doh!
i bought the revell germany D model about a 1 year ago. i seem to remember it having the J nose turret included. ill double check later today. not sure about any other mods that would need to be done.
thats the stack of models minus 1 I have acquired this month. On the bottom holding all up is Monograms 1/48 B-24J. Is that what youre looking for??? Found only on ebay I think… thats where I got mine.
Jeff
Cheers for the response. Yep ebay seems to be the only domain of the B24J. I’ve tracked down some bits from Squadron, but nothing about Koster, guess Ill have to snail mail from here in the UK to them.
I did just by the B24D, and it includes a Consolidated Turret (tail )and an Emerson, later production nose turret. thought the Emerson seems a bit squat.
What it didn’t contain was a Sperry ball turret ! argh!
The J is OOP, as someone said, but Koster do an excellent D to J conversion kit, which provides a vacform replacement nose section, PLUS all the canopies for the gun turrets. All you’d then need is a Squadron main canopy, some 500lb bombs, the Flightpath PE update set, and you’ll be away! [;)]
So speaks a man with 2 1/48th Libs in stash, a “D” from the shops & a “J” from eBay. I’ve also got 2 of the Koster conversions, Flightpath detail sets & lots of bombs. They’re all worth every penny! [:D]
I ordered it from the greatmodels.com site & sat there patiently while it arrived! With the $ so low against the £, it didn’t cost me too much in shipping etc. you’d still need to get the Squadron main canopy though, as the kit part is crap, so your best bet is to order them both.
The Koster parts seem to be a special order component wherever you get them from, and I completely struck out in the UK, so had to go across the pond to get mine.
No worse then the Fujimi 1/48 P-51D sitting underneath it [;)]. Believe it or not I seek kits like those out…keeps the modeling skills sharp… especially when you have plans for them like I do.
