Hi Everyone I finally finished my 1/48th Liberator Dio I call it " Mission Prep "
I used products from Micro Mark for the dio , the tow tractor came with the kit as did some of the figures , I got the bomb cart from my b-17 kit and some extra figures from a spare b-29 kit I had in storage , Hope you like the pics I apologize if their not good my camera can only do so much
Thanks Rick I finally got this project done it takes up my entire table , I was thinking about having a custom cover of glass or plastic to protect it for years to come .
Thanks Jason, John , Joe for the kind words , glad to see you liked the pics of this diorama , many thanks for taking time to view my post !! Take care !!
Thanks Mike I used testors model master metallic silver paint , engineering pencil ,and pastel chalk weathering to bring depth to the finish , glad you enjoyed this diorama , thanks for replying to my post , I really appreciate it alot.
Josh the base for this diorama is so large it barely fits through the opening to our sunroom where I build my models , I don’t have the excact measurements but it is abig piece of plywood 1/2’’ thick , thanks for the compliment about my dio I really appreciate it alot , also thanks Yardbird 78 for the reply as well , glad to see you liked the dio too ,
Take care fellas !!
Regards,
Earl W.
looks great! I have a dream of doing a dio of the B-24 lost in Lybia back during the war… I forget the name of the plane but they have a dio of it at the Lone Star Flight museum… the crew walked for about 120 miles before dying…
Very nice job. I know from experience that that kit doesn’t exactly fall together, but you really made it shine ! Nice job on the weathering. The additional pieces are a nice touch too.
Very impressive build, Earl. I really like the painting and weathering you did. I hope you get the dio covered, because that’s one you definitely want to keep!
