B-1 / TU-160 Blackjack length in 1/72

Hi guys,

As i am obsessed by modern russian planes, i also wanted to buy a TU-160 Blackjack, aka the russian B-1.
Now lately i buyed myself a TU-22 Backfire M, and at the moment i’m building that one, buth i came to 1 conclusion : that Tu-22 is already one hell of a big plane ! When i compare it with my 1/72 C-130, it is even larger as it ! Nevertheless its the same scale :stuck_out_tongue:
Now i know that the TU-160 even is bigger then the TU-22, even a little more then a B-1. So now i was wondering : how big is that TU-160 in 1/72 ??? I’m planning to buy the one from Amodel ( because it seems like they are the only ones to have one :frowning: ), buth i wanne know how big it is, because i wanne make sure i have place to set it somewhere in my house. Otherwise i’m afraid there won’t come a TU-160. So my question : anyone already made a TU-160 in 1/72, or a B-1 ( ghuess alot of guys here should at least build that one, i see B-1 pics in 1/48 more then i can imagine here :stuck_out_tongue: ) in the same scale, and tell me the length of that plane ( if possible in centimeters  ).
Thanks already.

Hope i can place that TU-160 somewhere, then the only problem is explaining to my GF why i buyed that thing :stuck_out_tongue:

Falcon10,
The real TU-160 is 54.1metres long - that means a 1/72 scale plane is (obviously) 72 times smaller.
So, 54.1 divided by 72 equals 0.751 - that means your model would be 751 mm or 75 centimetres long!! That’s one large model.
If you get a model of one, make sure you post pics of it - that would be a real eye opener!!

75 !!! rolleyes

oh dear :stuck_out_tongue:

it could stay on the aquarium, thats 150 cm :stuck_out_tongue: Or i could fit it to the ceiling, buth beter don’t do that, cause if it comes down, and you’re running under it, i ghuess you’ll see a lot of stars, and i don’t mean the red ones on the plane :stuck_out_tongue:

If i buy him, i sure make pics of it and post them  Now first gone measure some things out in my house :stuck_out_tongue:

BTW : does anyone know or there is a company that makes other decals then the standard ones that are delivered by the Amodel one ?
I don’t really like that name that the TU-160’s have these days, and the one from Amodel has decals with the name of the plane on it.
