Awesome Thanksgiving Kit Scores!!!

Well, this has been an excellent week. Great food, great fellowship, and not to mention some great scores on kits!!!The misses asked if I wanted to go to Hobby Lobby yesterday and after much debate (not really, but I did act like it), I agreed. But before that score, I must share another score that I landed earlier in the week. A very good friend of mine who models was wanting to clear out some of his stash. He’s the type that has a very large stash of stuff that seemingly never ends and to be honest, he probable doesn’t know exactly what all he has!! So after some talking and dealing, I came home with the following 3 kits for half a C-note! The first two are wingy things and for the scale are HUGE!!! The last one is the real prize…

First, two Hase 72nd scale Lancasters. These things are pretty big!!

This one has a resin bomb bay, resin mg barrels, and Aeromaster decals.

And lastly, this big boy…

Even comes with some Archer dry transfers!!

Now after this deal, I thought I was in heaven. So I trek down to the Hobby Lobby with the misses. Now every time I go, I peruse through the ships and always get drawn to the Revell 72nd Gato and Type VII C. Well, I look up and the VII C has a yellow tag on it, $40 bucks clearance. So after consulting with the boss, here she is…

And let me tell you, this thing is a beast!! Upon inspection, it is absolutely beautiful!! Anywho, just thought I would brag on some of what I think were some pretty darn good scores!!

Where in the heck did you find that Tiger!?

Erik

Nice score! That is my favorite version of the Tiger I.

[8D] Sweet deal all the kits, especially the Revell 1/72 Type VII C. My Hobby Lobby never seems to have models on clearance, I always have to bring along the 40% coupon to get a deal.

May I ask what that Aeromaster bag with the 4 planes on it really is? Have been wondering about this for a while…

Anyways, awsome scores… Wish I were you, for sure!

[EDIT] I notice one of the Lancys says ‘Tirpitz Raid’. I’m starting a Norway WWII GB soon, and if interested, you could build it for that. More info in the General modelling section… Just wanted to let you know [;)]

I’m far more drawn to that Custom Dioramics tavern [:)]

You folks with those Hobby Lobby stores are soooooooooo lucky!

Thanks all, the Tiger is one of my favorite scores out of the 4. All the stuff it comes with is just amazing and with it being in panzer grey with no zimm, hehe, thats right up my alley!!

Thanks for the heads up Huxy!! I may very well join that group build with the Tirpitz Lanc although my finish rate on group builds isn’t so great!

Zokissima, that tavern box actually contains a Tank Workshop full resin interior for the newer Tamiay Panzer IV’s. I am saving it for an Ausf H that I have in the stash.

mg, I was very very impressed with the VII C. The detail is very nice on the hull and it is JUST SO STINKING HUUUUGE!! Been eyeballing some of the resin, wood, and pe sets for it but hose interior compartment set are very expensive.

Nice Score, Whats A hobbylobby, a chain store or something?

Terry.

More of an Arts & Crafts store. They run 40-50% off coupons! The hard part is finding the newer Dragon kits at them. I’m glad in some ways that I don’t have one nearby. LOL

2 of my kits on my wish list, the tiger I and the type VII uboat, really hoping to get the uboat for Christmas. Nice haul!!!

[:O]Thanks PP! I have been eyeballing all those CMK resin inserts for the VII C, but at 60 bucks each, that would run upwards of like 200 bucks just for the resin!!!

Im screwed I live right in the middle of 3 of them all within about 10 minutes drive, I call it making the rounds it takes a Saturday afternoon to hit them all up, unfortunate though they are becoming very repetitive. I will make a suggestion to everyone look at the prices closley at hobby lobby when you see something you want, remember many of these stockers are underpaid underappreciated (I was one a few years ago), the prices are commonly mismarked I have seen $40 kits for $14 not on clearance but with incorrect pricing the list given to stockers for pricing is very crappy spreadsheet and the numbers and prices are very close together this leaves room for alot of mistakes (again experience with this). You can make your own moral judgement on this but I say if its marked that price then thats what I should pay just a word of advice.
