This museum recognizes aviators from KY. One being Col. Arnie Franklin. (Commander of the Libya raid in 1986 .Because the museum is on the small side, they can only display so many full size aircraft. They depend on model builders to tell the stories of the aviators.
If your ever in Bowling Green, it would be worth the trip. It’s exit 22 off I-65. First exit past the corvette museum.

Looks like the planes are in good shape. Is that Arnies F-111 back there from the Libya raid?
The museum has some amazing volunteers who help maintain the aircraft. They are washed on a regular basis. The F-9 Panther is currently in the restoration tent getting a repair/paint job. Arnie helps out with every restoration. In about a month and an half, it will be finished, and take its place back in the circle. The F-105F is the next one to go through the restoration process. They are going to let me help (with on orbital sanded).
Arnie is in the photo of the Panther restoration. As for the F-111, unfortunately it’s not the one he flew on the Libya raid. That one is in the Air Force Museum in Dayton OH. It also flew the first mission of the gulf war. The one you see in the circle, he flew that one twice.
