Auto diorama

I made a lot of models in my early teens. Since the end of 2019 (just retired and an upcoming pandemic), I started modeling again.

I recently turned a bookcase shelf into a diorama. Walls, floor and ceiling are foam board, paint and printouts to scale. The dark wood is balsa and bass wood.

All cars are model kits except the Ford Torino, which is a diecast.

I’ve followed these forums for a while and have picked some good tips! Having fun with an old hobby.

Your Googe Drive link is not set to Public.

Note, too, that Kalbach does not have the best track record with things on Google sites.

Thanks For letting me know. I’ll check into it or switch hosting site.

I fixed the link on the photo so it’s shareable.

Looks great. I like the choice of cars you used. My wife was amazed that I could name all the cars. I think I got them all corresct.

Looks good. Nice job on the lights.

Oh yeah, I can see the photo now! Nice selection of cars.

Maybe a little too clean for a real garage though! [:P]

Looks great. I have done a couple of shop dioramas, but only smaller one-car ones. Love the SuperBird or Charger.

That diorama looks awesome RickJ! I agree with the others about your great choice of cars to display. Like you, I also retired because of the pandemic(June 2020)which leaves more time for modeling.(So I thought, but the “Honey To Do List” keeps getting longer & longer) I still remember the first and only time I saw a Superbird out on the street. I was preteen and it was “LOVE” at first sight. Once again, “GREAT JOB”

Nice dio. Bill mentioned the lights, I had noticed them too…they add a lot.

Nice dio. I like that it is Fords. Oh don’t get me wrong. I am a limited Chevy fan, but I have had many Fords I loved too.

That looks awesome! Fun garage - and I assume you can cycle different cars in/out as you finish them.

Thanks for all of the comments!

The lights are from Hobby Lobby. 15 LEDs run off two AA. There’s another row of them that’s cropped out.

current project is a 64 Chevy II SS. I learned to drive in a 63 (not SS,with a six cylinder. I’ll post some photos soon in the auto section.

A lot of money sitting there in that garage. Clearly no girlfriend or wife. Very cool.

It looks good on my Google in the UK. Great work by the way!

If that was my garage I wouldn’t build models [:P]

That is a nice looking garage. I like some of the vintage cars in it.

Question;

I looked at this again. Is that Torino a “Talledega” If so where did you find it? Also , is the Chebby the mechanics driver?LOL.
