Tamiya has two different color sprays: AS (for aircraft) and TS (all purpose?). Is the AS-12 (bare-metal sivler) for aircraft any different than the TS-30 (silver leaf) in terms of finish (flat, glossy, semi-glossy). Or is the only different between them is that AS ones have more military oriented colors where TS is more geared towards automobiles?
I thought the AS were laquers and the TS were acrylics. I could very easily be wrong though, as I’m not really very sure about Tamiya. I rarely use their paints.
AS is just geared toward military aircraft, the TS is an all around color selection, they are both synthetic lacquers… (just found that out tonight)

Dunno about the difference between the two silver colors but to me something with “XXX” Leaf as the name implies shinyness as in chrome or such… I think I would feel safer with the BMF of the AS series over the Silver Leaf just from the name.
Thanks for the help guys. It turns out TS and AS are not all that different, in fact, Tamiya’s own 1/32 F-15 plastic kits use TS-30 as the upper surface color. Regardless, I decided to purchase the AS-12 (BMF) instead.
