  1. any artillary piece, be it german, british, american, whatever

  2. any manufacturer, italeri, tamiya, revell…ect.

  3. any size

  4. HAVE FUN!!

i’ll make up a list of peeps who want to do this GB.

I’d be in with a Dragon 1/35 Flak 38 20mm.

I’m sure someone around can make a badge… [:D]

Oh, and Artillery is spelled with an E.

thanks! when we get a few more people, ill start that list

i was thinking of using this picture

Go advertise this thread in the armor section! Refer them to here!

Southern Dragon -

I too am busy with some group builds as well. Anyway, I’ll through my hat in with the Tamiya 1/35 25 pounder, adding the Eduard PE set and Ultracast Italian helmets. With this build, I intend to make it appear as one of the pieces used by the Italian in North Africa. In North Africa, the Italian used many captured British 25 pounders to supplement their own artillery. It became a weapon of choice for them. Although it would be hard to tell it apart from a British used one.

great to have you telsono!!

Southern Dragon, put me down for a 1/35 Verlinden 88mm PaK43.

So no interest?

Hey guys, I’m still down for that 88, if you’re still down for the group build thing. I’m pretty busy with other builds, but I think I can squeeze a pretty good artillery piece out.

Let me know.

I am building a 1/72 South African G5 for the Modern African Wars GB. Can I do this one too?

I guess this one’s pretty much dead in the water. Too bad, that was gonna be one sweet arty piece. Ah well -

I will do it in our GB.

Artillary is a major overlooked element in the modelling world. I thought about joining in, and even went so far as to find a couple pieces. But after inspecting what I got, I was so dissappointed that I threw in the towl. What somebody needs to do is to come out with a “multi kit” of the 155 howitzer. One with a metal barrel, and both styles of front jacks. This way your half way there to build a WWII / Korean War piece or a Vietnam era howitzer. The two I picked up lacked a good quality firing lock, and the periscope was a complete joke. It also would have been nice to have a opened breech just to show off the inter locking step thread breech on a 155. Then there is the ammo issue. All that I’ve seen are HE, and there is no illumination rounds that were in common use. The other howitzer I picked up was the 105, and from what I can see it’s outta scale. But seemed to have better details than the other. Once again a real shame. I do have an M107 and an M109, and both also are gonna take some work to make them look half way reasonable. The best cannon I have is the British 12 pounder, and guess I could have used it. Oh well; I think it’s time for Tamyia or Dragon to help us all out.

I’m in!

I’m currently building M109A6 Paladin (Italeri 1/35 kit) and in the process of finishing up 1/35 75mm US Pack Howitzer.

if you need any 75mm howitzer pics let me know, as I have one setting just up the road from me.
