Army Detachment Steiner COELION 21 April 1945 (what if?)

Getting another one off the bench (finally!!!).

I decided to try an experiment with some “Hard Edge Ambush Camo”.

The camo was masked with Silly Putty, but the “T” shapes are home made decals made with a paper punch I acquired many years ago.

This ended up being much more work than I had envisioned. Not only are there hundreds of decals but, the punch separated many of them from the paper (and glue). I also used too much paint on the decal sheets so the end result was thick decals and as I was to find out later, after the 1st coat of clear overcoat, 'curling decals".

So this is one of those “it is what it is” models that will remain a display case queen, never to see the light of a contest.

Anyway, I thought you guys would enjoy seeing it.

Those pics are coming up way to big. But it looks great. Is this the Dragon kit, and if so how did you find it. I have this in the stash myself, along with some Aber and Voyager AM, and i am dieing to build it.

Interesting camo, that would have been a long process - I love these what-if projects. If you were to try it again, would you be able to use the paper punch on masking tape rather than decal sheets?

The paint scheme is definately off the beaten path, and I like that.I got this one in the stash as well.I’ll get to it some day.

Hey, ya finally got 'er done! Figured all those deckles would be a PITA. Looks great to me. Congrats on crossing the finnish line.

Pat.

Sweet.

“A” for creativity. Very interesting camo scheme.

still looks WAAAAY better than my take on this kit. great job!

Did the wheels on the back of the turret come with the kit,or did you scrounge around the spares box for 'em?

They are a nice addition.

who’s to say that the what-if Germans weren’t supplied with camouflage T decals to apply in the field?

Shock 5This T party is coming up at 1923 x 1920…

That’s what’s causing it to load slowly at least here anyway.

Wow!

Thanks guys!

Um, guess I got a little cried away with the picture size, sorry.

Bish, Yes Dragon kit and I bought it when it came out.

Vance, Glad you like it, and good idea about the tape. will try next time…

TD4438, Thanks! Now get yours built!!! By the way the road wheels came from the old Panther F and the spare road wheels on the turret came from my spares box.

Glad you got my message, You know what a PITA this was…
