I decided to try an experiment with some “Hard Edge Ambush Camo”.
The camo was masked with Silly Putty, but the “T” shapes are home made decals made with a paper punch I acquired many years ago.
This ended up being much more work than I had envisioned. Not only are there hundreds of decals but, the punch separated many of them from the paper (and glue). I also used too much paint on the decal sheets so the end result was thick decals and as I was to find out later, after the 1st coat of clear overcoat, 'curling decals".
So this is one of those “it is what it is” models that will remain a display case queen, never to see the light of a contest.
Those pics are coming up way to big. But it looks great. Is this the Dragon kit, and if so how did you find it. I have this in the stash myself, along with some Aber and Voyager AM, and i am dieing to build it.
Interesting camo, that would have been a long process - I love these what-if projects. If you were to try it again, would you be able to use the paper punch on masking tape rather than decal sheets?
Um, guess I got a little cried away with the picture size, sorry.
Bish, Yes Dragon kit and I bought it when it came out.
Vance, Glad you like it, and good idea about the tape. will try next time…
