Armour in the West GB (Defence of the Reich)

This is the GB thread for the armour in the West GB, Defence of the Reich. This GB is to commemorate the last 11 months of the war in Western Europe and is open to all amour, soft skins, artillery and other ground equipment used in Western Europe between 6th June 1944, D-Day, to 8th May 1945, VE Day.

The GB will run from 6th June 2014 and end on 8th May 2015.

To enter, your build should be of a piece of German armour or ground equipment that served on the Western Front. Due to the confused situation in the last couple of moths of the war, with Soviet and Western Allied forces closing on each other and German forces attempting to escape capture by the Red Army and surrender in the west, to avoid confusion, your build should belong to a unit that was under the command of OB west at the time you are portraying it.

Any scale, OOB or as much AM as you like.

No Crossovers please.

Sign up at any time.

Verly slightly started kits, max 10%, allowed

This GB will run in conjunction with the D-Day to Berlin GB.

Plenty of info sharing, pictures and most importantly, have fun and enjoy.

For those who take part in this GB only, this is your badge, to be displayed upon your fist completed build.

And for those taking part in both GB’s, you can either take the two individual badges or this joint option.

Finally, for those taking part in either the Hunters GB, N Africa GB or Orphaned Armour GB, or all 3, or any of the other great GB’s currently running, remember, this GB runs until May next year. So you have enough time to complete those builds before jumping onto these GB’s.

My name isn’t on the list? That’s BLASPHEMY!!!

Just kidding [;)]

I should have a few German vehicles in my stash that might might the theme here…

Let’s see… I’ll build one of those:

And now for something completely different:

I hope the master of this GB approves?

Cheers, Clemens

Ye, I was going over the feeler thread and checking what you had put yourself down for. So I will pout you down for both.

Brave lad.

I’ll add some Friul Tracks to both kits (I hate those big magic tracks) and the Panther needs an RB gun barrel as well because the machine I’m going to build had the muzzle brake removed.

Some pics of the vehicles I want to build:

Hey Bish, glad to see the official thread up, but I wanted to let you know I’ll be building the Porsche turret Tiger, not the Henschel.

Bish please add me for a Dragon Firefly 1/35 too.

Thanks, Terry

Sorry bob, I have corrected it.

jibber, that will go onto the D-day to berlin GB which will have its own thread.

Will do thanks, I’ll look at something else.

Bish, put me down for Dragon’s Jagdpanzer IV L/48.

This was my intended axis build for the Longest Day GB, but no time to fit it in. I need to get myself cloned (a few times at that), to keep pace with all the interesting GB’s out there. Anyhow, won’t see this one on the bench till the new year, but have signed up now to follow what other members have on the go. Thanks!

regards,

Jack

Got you down Jack. If you work out how to clone yourself, let me know. I could do with another 2. My build probably won’t be until the new year either, I am just about at my limit for this year, and that will be a squeeze. Still not sure what I will do yet.

Bish, would the Sherman M4A1 in 1/35 by Tasca work, if so please sign it in.

Bish I’ve been wanting to build a Tasca Sherman for a while. There are so many variations I was thinking the M4A1 or the M4A3?

Hey Terry, I think you misunderstood the theme of this GB. This one is for German vehicles only. There will be a separate GB for the Allied ones.

jibber, sorry, I think I may have not been clear. This GB thread is for German armour only, there will be another, run by Eagle, that will be for Allied armour. That will be titled D-day to Berlin. Your Firefly would defiantly be ok for that, as for the M4A1, what I know about Allied armour you could put on a stamp, twice. But I know one of the other guys will know.

And we crossposted again LOL. This keeps happening way too often, don’t ya think?

Great minds think alike[;)]

Bish my apologies, I completely misunderstood. I’m an %#*/…

I’m going btw GB’s and I noticed the Sherman on the badge and assumed without reading. After reading it your very clear on the requirements.

Bish I’m sorry to waste your time with this…

No worries jibber, if you ever get as confused as I do, its really time to worry.
