A smart move on your part. The kit tracks are too tight. I had some Hobby Boss replacements on order, but the order was cancelled since they didn’t have any more in stock.
Which aftermarket tracks did you get?

Thanks Jean-Michel, like I said it was a great quick build.
Gun Tech. That thing took like four hours to assemble. Maybe one or two more. It is very quick build one that is nice. I started working on my tracks last night. So I should have something posted for that next week some time.
Good thing then, I will wait a bit for mine though, I also got the Eduard PE for it. I’ll clear a few projects firts, and it’s turn should come soon[:)]
Gun Tech, sorry I misread your question. The links that I have are from Hobby Boss. They look fairly decent. However, there is absolutely no directions with them. The other issue is that there are two parts trees, because they mold them one a tree and then there is also a replacement front wheel sprocket. Of note there is no information to weather or not there are differences between the two sides.
No directions??? Is it something regular with them, or it just a mishaps on your set?
As far as I know, there should not be any differences between the 2 sets of tracks.
hello prototype group build members.just read the posts here and this build interests me.i to have built the sturer emil and concur on its ease of assembly, and would recomend it even to a novice.although i broke away from accuracy and painted mine in dark yellow ochre, and heavily weathered it.after all freedom of choice is the rule.i have recieved the trumpeter “dicker max”,and if i may would like to enter your g.b. with this offering.although i am currently involved in two other g.b’s.i guess im a sucker for punishment.but with the long build times i should be o.k.[swg]
That’s fine, welcome!
greetings, have started the dicker max project and things moved along smoothly.the kit is typical trumpeter grey molded plastic.the detail for the most part is very good.the instruction sheet starts with the parts sprues laid out,and unused parts listed at the bottom.first step of assembly is the roadwheels, sprockets, and idlers, also tow shackles, drive housings, return rollers are covered in step2.parts locations are well illustrated.step 3 covers the rear panel, idler adjustment,a stowage box with spare roadwheel mounting.step 4 involves the assembly of the bogies.the sprue attachment points are quite thick and require cleaning, also some very large mold lines.the bogies ,when properly assembled, articulate much as the real thing would.the covers over the roadwheel arms are very well registered in there proper position.and hold the arms securely.as i said before the sprue attachments are very prominent so plan on spending more time cleaning than building.in all steps 1-4 have went smoothly.and i will try to take some better quality photos as this progresses.at this point i will paint the lower chassis, clean up the roadwheels which are only set in place and not permanently attached yet.i know the picture quality is not that great.but any discrepencies or comments very welcome.
Hey…this sounds fun, and I’ll use it as a reason to pull out one of those 1:76 scale Vac-U-Cast resin kits that I like so much.
I’ll build the E-25 Leichterjagdpanzer Neuer Art (call it the E-25).
Since it is small and resin, the kit has few pieces, lost of clean up, and much paint work will be necessary.

Welcome to the GB! Sounds like an interesting vehicle.
I’d like to build an E-100 StuG sometime, too. It’s the E-100 chassis with a StuG-type hull and the same gun, just making it lower and meaner looking. Only problem is that the only conversion kit is $175…
I don’t know if this company is still in business, but their stuff is pretty cool. It always does well in competition. I won my first “1st” with one of their T-34s in an OOB division many years ago.
I haven’t touched mine a long while I have to get back to it. I will sooner than later. I have to finish my Tomcats first. Since one of them is going on the San Diego reunion. Cheers.
I should probably start my Vac-U-Cast kit here soon. I’ve been cracking away at IPMS review kits too much lately.
I totally love that Sturer Emil kit.
Herme, what is the drop date finish date on this GB? I had forgoten. Things have been very crazy lately. I am still hard at work on the Tomcat and have limited time left at this point. I will be adding another tank to the mix. I have the Vorpanzer conversion kit designed for the Tamiya Tiger I, and I have the Dragon Tiger I Initial. From those two kits I will be doing the Vorpanzer conversion that is in the MMIR Tiger book. I can’t wait to get this one done. The LHS that I orderd the kit from well over a year ago told me they sold it. When I was in there the other day I found the conversion kit in the lockup case, and promptly bought it. I can’t wait to get my hands into that one. I’ll post some images for it sooner rather than later as I already have it started. I have removed the outer sections on the outer front drive sprockets like shown in the book. Other than that the rear bulkhead is in place as well as the sidewalls. Other than that it is in a rather unfinished state. Since this is a one of a kind I will also be getting a set of MK traks, as I am not willing to spend the money on the FM tracks, as they are simlpy too much for me to spend my money on. Not to mention the fact that they frighten the H-E-(-) of me.
I have the references to do it, but i dont think i have the skill required, but a scratchbuild of a 1/35 AC4 Sentinel (or thunderbolt, depending on what reference your reading)
Any M3 fans out there who could give me a hull that would be suitable to modify and build from would be a good start, i dont know that much about the M3 at all
AC4 with 17 pound anti tank gun
AC3 with 25 pound gun
AC1 with 2 pounder gun
greetings, have posted dickermax on the armor forum.
Hey, would you guys mind if I joined in with my Dragon 1/35 VK4501 Tiger (P)? [8D]
No problem…good to have you!
I don’t remember when my original end date was, but it looks like it will be “whenever”, with a goal of around April 08[;)]
I’ll be starting my kit after I finish my Das Reich Tiger I for the Kursk GB. The plan is to work on my JagdTiger for the Panzer Aces GB while I work on the VK4501 Tiger (P). So, basically that means I’ll be starting up in a couple of weeks. [:)]
