I am planning on building a german training tank from the mid-30’s, sometime here. it was where they bolted on tin armor plates to an automobile chassis. I have about a dozen pictures of them so far, but I wonder if anyone else has some more.

See if you can find the old Armor Profile “Panzerkampfwagen I and II” or “Armored Fighting Vehicles of Germany - World War II” (Arco Publishing - 1978, which is all the Profiles on German AFVs hardbound). There are a couple of good shots of Pz Kpfw training vehicles, one of a group of Panzer I ausf A and B modified for training (turret and all the armor down to fenders removed) and one fair shot of the drivers position.
Can’t recommend where to look but I would probably start with a shop that specilizes in out of print books. Hope this will help a little.

I think M1 is after pics of the late 20’s early 30’s cardboard and tin mock up tanks. They were based on Adler Dixi or BMW cars that had the rear seat area removed and had several panels clipped and bolted on them to make them look like tanks.
You can see the 4 wheels under the bottom of the tracks on the vehicles. The rear panel was a huge door that swung open so that the crew could get in. The commander sat on a sling, which stuck on a pole fixed to the car where the rear seat was. Then he could stick his head outside the ‘cupola’.
