Say Everyone,

Without trying to get to personal, where are you folks from? Am I the only American in this group? Not that it matters, I am just curious.

Also call me lazy but could I get the people particapting in this GB to email me with what they building. Thanks (Merci)

Yeah ! You’re right Chris. Let me introduce me :
I’m Piwi ( real name is Pierre) and i’m 35 years old.
I live in France (near the west coast ). My favorite area ? WWII but also modern french vehicles.
I’m currently working on a Chenillette Lorraine 37L from RPM and plan to built a radio command car in Indochina or a french VBL on Ivory Coast

Yep, Chris !
My name is Franck, 35 years old. I live in France too, in Valenciennes near the belgian border (The Mons Pocket, 1944).
My favorites are french afv/softskins of the “funny war”, french material in general, even if I build other kind of kits.
I’m working on my Panhard 178 (paint, now); I project another Panhard (the “EBR”), a R40, a funny R35 (odd job of the funny war)…

Chris,

My name is Steve, I’m 51 years old and I live in Wisconsin. I’ve been to France once, a long time ago. Took the wife to Paris for our first wedding anniversary. I like WWII armor, any nationality. In modern stuff I build almost exculsively vehicles I’ve been a crewman on, although I’ve built a couple of T-55’s. (It’s a good tank that was sold prolificly.) I’m attempting to build MB Models Char B1bis, but it’s a bit overwhelming at the moment. The more I look at it the more work it needs.[:p]

Chris, I’m Dominique and I’m from Belgium (Liège, near the Dutch and German borders), but I live in Chatham, in Kent, in the UK, right between London and the Channel port of Dover. I’m 38.

My thanks to all. I am editing the first post with updates. I like this GB stuff! I’m glad I could find some folks with the same interest who want to particapate.

As for an introduction, my name is Chris (45 years old)(USA). I like aircraft (retired Air Force after 22 yrs), Armor (Char B1 bis), and auto (WRC, F1) models. I have turned into more of a collector than a builder and I hope this group will help me get some kits built. With your help I hope this GB will be fun as well interesting.

Steve - take heart the MB Models’ Char B1 bis is buildable. I have seen Mike Bishop’s completed tank. He’s a member of the model club I belong to.

Domi - I want to join your Aerobatic GB so bad but I don’t want to spread myself thin. Was there an air fete at RAF Mildenhall this year? I saw the Thunderchickens, I mean Thunderbirds last Saturday. Brilliant!

Pierre - thanks for the excellent GB badge. I love your website.

Franck - I am looking forward to seeing your funny R35

Chris, join in the Aerobatic Teams gb whenever you feel like. No hurry. Not sure about Mildenhall… Bar Farnborough Air Show, I haven’t done any military airshow since 1993… Kind of sad really!

I have a question about the badges. Do you get to attach the badge if you are participating in a GB or when you finish the GB?

Oh Great question Chris ! I thought it was when you’re participating in the GB !!!

Chris, on the first topic I saw you’ve put our models we are are buildind on.
Last time in my presentation I talked about French VBL and radio command car but it was only to introduce me.
For this GB i’m only working on Chenillette Lorraine !!! Sorry !

Nice kits, Marc…! Who’s the manufacturer? What scale? That UE looks fantastic!

The manufacturer of these kits ?? Propaganda Kompany, and the owner (and sculptor) is… Marc !
Very good job !

Super boulot, Marc, bravo !

Hahaaa! Marc of Propaganda Kompany! I know you! This is Domi of the soon to be RetroKit(ExoKit/RetroModels reborn!)…!

Ok Pierre,

I have edited the list which I will try to keep updated. As for the badge I will need to add it to my signature. I was curious. I guess we will do the bowing smilie for completed projects.

Great looking models Marc.[tup][wow][yeah]

Okay, I’m a putz. I can’t figure out how to put the GB badge in my sig. I tried to follow the link on that subject from last month in the armor forum, but it just confused me. Guess I need to buy “avatars for dummies” or something. On the GB note; I’ve been working on the kit a little at a time, mostly doing research and planning construction. It’s a bigger project than I expected. Anyway, I’m thinking I’ll need to build and install the top run of track before attaching the sponsons to the upper hull. Also thinking about using five minute epoxy to put the main components together. Any thoughts? [:I]

Steve,
You will need to update your profile and in the signature block that takes text and graphics you will need to put in brackets the letters img then the address http://perso.wanadoo.fr/maquette.garden/french%2001.JPG and on the end put /img in brackets. Type it in all together with no spaces and you should get the badge.

As for the Char b1 bis I was using the thicker superglue to glue the resin parts. Have you cleaned off the flash on the metal tracks? I have been thinking about attaching the track all around the sponson and then glue it on. There is going to be quite a bit of scratchbuilding to do on this kit. What are you using for references?

Thanks Chris, I’ll get with the program on the badge. I’ve looked at the tracks and they’re less than stellar in my kit. Going to be a big job. It’s looking like I’m going to have quite a space between the rear and top fenders even though the rear hull and hull top look like they’ll be okay. Looks like a putty party coming up but, I keep looking at the box top and saying to myself, “I can do this.”

I am making changes to my first post to this GB as we go so you can check it to see what’s happing with this GB.

I am going to get realistic and I’m dropping the FCM 36 from my planned projects. These resin kits are a bit of a challenge for me.[sigh]

Steve, I feel your pain. Hang in there.[:D][tup]
