This aircraft was built by my special needs son and I (Jarrod and Ben respectively) and represents one of the Arado AR196-B single main float variants that were dispatched to Italy for duty in the Mediterranean. The aircraft did not arrive with any weapons in the wings, only the German 7.92mm shooting through the engine cowling, so they added 7.7mm Breeda Italian MG’s in each wing. The camouflage is a disrupter cross hatched line effect, as shown on the Savoia Marchette SM79 schemes during the period.

We know it is not perfect, but it is a decent looking 3 foot model. Please let us know what you think of her.

Well done Ben and Jarod! That’s a great looking model. A) I’m a fan of the Arado - just got one (the two pontoon type) a couple months ago and B) In Italian camo & markings she looks just fantastic. Congrats!

Great cammo job!

Looks pretty sweet from any distance. Well done, love the cammo [B]

V-e-r-r-r-r-y Nice build! [t$t] [t$t] [t$t]

Stay Safe.

Super nice, don’t lose it in the weeds, it should blend pretty well. Congrats to Jarrod and you, too.

Looks terrific! Well done and can’t wait to see your next joint effort!

Congratulations to Jarod and you! That’s an excellent finish, from your construction to the final colors and markings. Well done!

Beutiful!

I researched this aircraft when I built it a few years ago and thought that there were only a couple of prototypes of the B made. Didn’t see any references to operational ones especially to Italy. The Italian camo suits it perfectly though and now I may need to rethink how mine was done! It looks way nicer than the nondescript prototype finish I did.

Love it!!

Looks great from where I sit! Always nice to see Luftwaffe designs in interesting foreign colors. [Y][Y][Y]

Beautiful, you guys are a great model building team. Thanks for the post and photos.

Patrick

The addition of all those extra goodies and the work they required paid off. That’s a nice looking build. I love the camo.

Looks like masterful work. It’s a real gem!

That Italian livery is striking!

Great looking built, really like that base too.
