Is it appropriate to “ding” the gun cleaning rod case? I am building a 1/35 Tamiya Panther G (early) and figured you guys know could point me in the right direction.
Yes it is. I’ve seen plenty of pics of it dinged. I’m building the same kit, and went looking for pics of damage. I’ve seen damage ranging from scratches to fairly large dents.
I’ve seen actual photos showing the thing full of bullet holes too.
Remember, it’s only made from thin sheet metal, I’d hazard a guess and say not more than 18 guage or 20 guage at most.
Alot depends on the particular vehicle as well, and how you intend to model it, relatively new in the field, or a war-weary veteran with lots of dings and scrapes.
I’m doing a T-34/85 right now that’s getting an average amount of damage, bent fenders, fuel tanks, simply because it’s real easy to go overboard.
