Has anyone here built the above kit? If you have can you pass on your thoughts on it? Pictures are always a plus as well.
I haven’t heard of that one before. I have a 1/32 Blue Thunder in my stash which I believe was made by Monogram. Can’t physically locate it just now. I think it was based on a Gazelle airframe.
I would love to see that built. I remember watching the show as a kid!
The kit was made by Monogram, and the actual helo was a modified Aerospatiale SA-341G Gazelle. There were two such choppers in case one was grounded for maintenance issues: S/N 1066 (ex-N51BT) and S/N 1075 (ex-N52BT). Both later made an appearance in the 1987 film Amerika. To top it off, N51BT also put in a brief appearance in the pilot episode of MacGyver.
I have seen one of them built nicely and one of them built badly. I wouldn’t mind getting ahold of one of these kits to build, even though I can’t stand domestic manufacturers military kits.
The Aoshima is not the old Monogram kit but a complete new kit. One version comes with a metal gatling gun although th detail is not that great on it. The rest of it looks great.
