I am very interested in this subject and the only thing I’ve turned up in a year is a small scale resin kit with little to no detail. I’m looking specifically for WWI uboat kits plastic/resin or plans. I was told that plans for U-Kreuzer U139 were coming out but I wasn’t told whom is publishing them or when they were coming out and that was a year ago. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I’m pretty sure there are some (or at least one) 1:72 Austro-Hungarian U-boat kits out there somewhere. I remember reading a review of them/it a couple of years ago.

I sort of like the French Curie-class, with the open casing and PE deck.
Prices are not listed, but I inquired and they are reasonable with other resin & brass offerings on the market.
Yankee Modelworks has re-released the ex-Blue Water Navy model of the U-34 German submarine of WWI. The U-34 is the most successful submarine of all time (can’t remember if it is number or tonnage sunk)
If you are looking for a challenge, combatmodels.us has 1/72 vacuform u-boats, 2 from WW1.
There are large plans with the kits.

I have a Yankee Model Works U-35 in 1/350th. Its all resin with PE and looks pretty good. Its not very big at about 7 inches long. The subject matter interested me and it will make a nice comparison model with my WW2 I-400 which is a monster even in 1/350. Been working on it for a while now and will eventually get it done and post some pics here. Not real sure if there’s much available in any larger scales though. U-35 is supposed to be the highest scoring submarine of any country in any conflict with 224 ships sunk for a total of 535,900 GRT sunk in 25 war patrols. I think I may have read somewhere else that most of her kills were accomplished with deck guns. She had 2 8.8cm guns mounted. Quite a record I’d say. RickM

COMBAT MODELS produces two WWI era German U-boats (U-9 and U-35), and a USN “S-Calss” Sub designed at the end of WWI.As well as an old “flush deck” USN Destroyer (U.S.S. Ward).
Be prepared to invest a lot of time,effort and resources.Scratch-building skills are a must,as well as raiding after-market detail sets.A good looking finished product can be accomplished,but it will take a lot of patience.
