Anybody have close-up pics? M2

I really need some close-up reference pics of the Bradley M2 smoke grenade launchers. I can’t find decent ones anywhere! and I have to scratchbuild a pair real soon. Cheers -Spencer[:)]

MAJ Rob has some really great pics…

Tom

Here you go. They are the same as on an M113, four tubes on a back plate with four different angles so they point in different directions and cover the front of the vehicle.

Thanks Gino, that’s what I was looking for. I can click for close-ups and they’re pretty clear. Looks like Mr. Tamiya was pretty right on with the kit parts. Hey in the middle pic, are those empty tubes? I was wondering how accurate it would be to install just the hollow tubes, (post launched?) or just a couple of 'em loaded, or if the crews keep them loaded all the time etc., etc… Do you know of any way I could get even closer shots from those pics or is the one click the closest? Thanks again for the help. I really appreciate it.

Tom, I thank you also. I utilize the Motor Pool quite often. It’s an excellent site but I just haven’t had a lot of time on my hands lately and I was hoping to finish this kit by Friday night or Saturday morning. At this point it doesn’t seem feasible, but I’m still gonna try my best. There’s a show here in Austin May 1st and I wanted to try to have it done by then to see if maybe I could enter the build. Providing it was good enough of course. I’m still very much a novice, so I seriously doubt it, but one never knows. I’ve learned a great deal from helpful people like yourselves on this forum. I’m just trying to put it all in perspective. Thanks again you guys!

Riffraff,
The photos above all show smoke grenade launchers without the grenades in them. Second photo has empty tubes, first and third show rubber caps placed over tubes to keep debris out. Below photo shows them loaded with light green colored smoke grenades.

They are usually either covered with the rubber protector as molded in most kits (pointy end on them) or in use, loaded with grenades.

As for closer pictures, you can copy them to you computer then open them in a photo program and zoom in.

Thanks Gino, you’ve helped tremendously. I really appreciate it! After the unveiling-unmasking of my seats today, (I’m pretty nervous) I’m going to start building the launchers. -Cheers

you could try here http://afvinteriors.hobbyvista.com/bradley/bradley1.html

Thanks Jon, I have those pages bookmarked. They’ve helped me a bit too. I really needed close-ups of the launchers and the info about being empty, etc. I also found some on here: http://tanxheaven.com/m2/m2pic.htm I finally made some spare time.
