Any one from Southeastern PA?

Hey all, I was just wondering if there was anyone on here from the suburbs of philly…I stopped at my LHS (bad idea…I can’t walk outta there empty handed!)and the guy behind the counter invited me to check out their clup on the first fridays of every month. I was just wondering if anyone on here knows about the club at Herb’s Hobbies?

Justin

Sorry. Don’t know where the place is. We only have one LHS on Rte #3 outside West Chester. It’s mostly R/C stuff, kids toys and stuff like metal detectors. He used to have a good supply of models but that’s been cut in half. There aren’t any clubs in the area either. We have a group of 4 guys that get together once a month (if we’re available) but we haven’t gotten to the point of becoming an official club.

Sorry dont know anything about Herbs Hobbies. At least you have a club there, I live in York and there is nothing here as far as clubs for aircraft modelling.

Hi Justin,

I’m “one of the guys” Jim mentioned. We’re in Chester County and there isn’t all that much out here.

I checked out “Herb’s Hobbies” on Google and it is about an hour from where I live. Too far to drive on a regular basis [:(]. I wish there was a hobby store around here that had “club” meetings.

Justin, I stop in at Herb’s typically twice a month or more. It is definitely hard to leave empty handed although I did just that yesterday. I have talked to Nick (shorter guy, spikey gray/silver/white hair) about the club that they have there. It seems like every time that I remember about it, it’s already happened. That’s about all I can give you on the club. Have you tried going to Penn Valley Hobbies in Lansdale? Check out their website, it’s definitely worth a visit. They have a good selection of stuff. The problem with Herb’s is that my office is right down the street… It can make for some bad times…

Never heard of it, im up in north east philly, the only hobby shop around there I know of is allied hobbies, but there to overpriced. I used to just get my paint and supplies there but its still cheaper to get that all online and pay shipping.

Herb’s is in Doylestown, Smeagol. I would say that the products they sell are “competitive”, andthey also have model railroad stuff and all sorts ofother crafts.

To get there, get to 611 North, and get off in Doylestown and follow main street north until you get to the Starbucks and make a left. Herdb’s is 1/4 to 1/2 a mile on the left…

The allied Hobbied that you used to frequent, is that in Grant Plaza? I used to work next door at Chapman Ford…and my mother in law live down the street on Alburger. Where in the Northeast are you located?

Justin

swingr…that was my problem as well. I used to work at Fred Beans Collision Center, and I would stop by often. My wife hated it! I was laid off last summer, and now I work in Lansdale at Old Forge Collision, on Walnut. I am just gonna have to search that place out!

Justin

Justin, it’s on Main Street by 363 across from CVS and Starbucks. The hours are odd however. Plan accordingly. Penn Valley Hobby Center . I was there on Thursday and found a few Monogram kits that I just had to have… Just don’t tell the wife!
