Any kits of USCG 82-foot patrol boat Point League?

Hi, folks![:)]
I’m not much of a ship modeler, so maybe ya’ll can help me out.

I’m looking for a kit of a an 82-foot Coast Guard patrol boat used in the Vietnam war. My fathered served on this type for 2 years, around 1966 or so.
He was on a boat called the Point League for most of his time there, but also served on the Point Hudson, Point Kennedy, and helped prep the Point Slocum for deployment from Miami.

Any kits of this boat out there? I used to erroneously think the 1/35 Tamiya PBR was the same type, but after doing a little research on dad’s boats, I realized that was way wrong!

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated![:D]

Hello again, folks![:)]

I don’t mean to seem pushy, but I just wanted to pop this post back to the top again in case anybody missed it.

I guess it is a pretty obscure topic, but from talking to dad it seems there were quite a few of these “Point” series boats in service.

Again, any and all information will be greatly appreciated![:D]

Yep, missed it.

USCG Fact Sheet: http://americanhistory.si.edu/csr/shipplan.htm

There is this: http://seaveemodels.com/browse_43 [:D]
and these:

You may have some luck at:

The USCGC Point Brower is still in active service so they my not have anything though.

I also found this: https://www.navalbasehobbies.com/wjuscg.htm
I’ll see what else I can dig up.

Thanks for all the info, Claymore!

I found some good pix on the USCG website, some of the Point Leaugue and Point Hudson, both of which Pop served on.

That’s a little Point Cutter next to a penny, eh?

Again, thanks so much for the info![:D]

Not in plastic-- the closest you can get in plastic is the Lindberg 95’ Cape class model.
If you’re willing to go bigger, there are a few fiberglass hulls and semi-kits of the 82’ point class patrol boat. Check my list for more detail…

Thanks for the info, Bill. Didn’t see this post when I answered the last one, so sorry for the redundancy.

I’ll check your lists.
Thanks!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Pt Brower is no longer commissioned. The last of the 82’s were replaced by 87’s last year.
