panzer striker,

If you want to practice your air brushing on planes why don’t you go to your local toy store and buy something already built and paint away?

Richard

That is a good idea. Some cheap plastic kid’s toy that was made here in the Philippines! [:D] Or else, use an old model that you wrecked from your childhood (i have tons).

panzer striker,
If you are looking for a quick build that will get you spraying fast, get a couple of the Testors quick build kits. There are 4 different planes in 1/72nd scale. There is a Me-109G, Spitfire Mk 24, Zero (52?) and a Dautlass Divebomber. These are the old HAWK kits and the fighters come with no landing gear or interior parts (except, maybe a pilot). They have stands, solid wings, etc. If I recall correctly about 10-12 parts total. The 109 will let you practice that mottle affect and the Spit will give you a chance to go for a hard or soft edge camo (it is actually a pretty accurate looking kit even). I think these kits would be great for Make N Takes as the low number of parts means you can have a plane ready to fly in just a few minutes.
I usually practice on some of my older kits that never got finished for some reason or another (unfortunately have too many of these).
Good luck on your spraying.

thats a goos idea,i never thought of that, thank

I got a 1/48 Me 163 Komet from Testors. I think it had around 20 parts tops! Its basically 2 fuselage halves, 4 wing halves, 2 flaps, 2 leading edge slats, 2 parts for the landing skid, the takeoff trolley, pitot tube, the instrument panel and cockpit and the window glass.

Its cheap, its got pretty good fit which impressed me since it was testors, plus you can really work on your airbrush skills by making some of those wild German splinter camo schemes!

I did mine though as Spate’s first flight Komet. The ground crew painted it all red like the Red Baron. I did have to add some 20mm cannon barrels though because the later Komets like the Testors kit models portray had 30mm cannon with recessed barrels.

Almost any 1/72 Airfix series 1 kit £3.99 (just under $US 7.00) here in the UK) would do, if such kits are readily available where you live. Likewise, Italeri and Revell do a series of single-engined WW2 fighters for the same (or slightly less) money. If you live in the States, the Italeri models may be available under the Testors label. All of these kits have about 30 parts, and, so long as you are not going to paint the interior, or worry about cleaning up join lines, and you use gap-filling superglue, not polystyrene cement, can be assembled in a couple of hours.

You might even like to consider assembling 5 or 6 at a time, using a ‘production line’ method. That way the glue on one kit can be drying while you work on the same stage of the other kits, and you can spray them all with primer at the same time.

Hope this helps,

Chris.

ok,ill rush to the hobby store to get some of those models, thax

revell 1/48 spitfire

easiest to build, at least for me

50 pieces or less

I you want easy builds, few interior parts, quick build time, and a wide range of topics to choose from with alot of different paint schemes, and also model that if built even just right out of the box are easly award winning kits, if you build them right, then you want the Monogram Fighter Aircraft Line. Alot of there kits have around 20 to 30 pieces, and are really fun to make. Any of their kits will result in a very good model with little work , and are usually only a few days long to a week long prodject. So try the Monogram kits, They can easly be bought for under 5 dollars at any swap meet and the end result is more than satisfactory.

i found a float plain at the hobby store, not much pieces at all,and i think im going to starting building it in 3 more days
