Any Complaints about DML Service?

I’'ve purchased the Operation Varsity, US Airborne set from DML that’s missing a part and I can’t get them to send a replacement. I’ve written directly to Hong Kong and tried to communicate via their web site. It’s been months. Anyone have any suggestions? By the way, I purchased the kit while out of town, so going to the hobby shop is not an option.

Know your frustration, been there a few times and my experience has been negative when it comes to the asian manufacturers with the exception of Tamiya.
DML and Academy have ignored anything i sent,I have even offered to purchase the parts I needed to finish my models.
Which part are you missing? don’t have that set yet but do have some of the other US figure sets from them so if its a equipment part I may have a spare unless its a body part or the para style helmet.

what do u expect? its nearlly impossible to get replacement parts from there. it would also cost tons to ship it. your better of buying the kit again.[B)]

Thomas,
Thanks for your offer. I was missing an arm (part C-4) or I would have come up with a replacement from the spares box. Since Dragon / DML uses an importer, I don’t think it’s asking too much to stand behind your product. Call me stubborn but I don’t believe in buying another copy of a kit to fix a problem caused by the manufacturer in the first place. It’s like rewarding them for creating a poor product and having crappy service in the first place. I’ll just avoid their products from now on. By the way, it’s been so long I’ve been back to the out of town shop I bought the kit from and THEY took care of me.

maybe you could complain to the shop u bought it from. tell them u bought it there and it was brocken. after a while they will give in.[:p][:p][:p]

I’ve had no dealings with DML, but as far as other Asian manufacturers go, I’ve had nothing but great experiences concerning customer service with Tamiya, Hasegawa, and Bandai. Granted, these are all Japanese manufacturers, and I did deal with them here in Japan, so your results may very.
Hard to understand why a “reputable” company like Dragon (DML) would ignore a customer in such a way.
Anyway, good luck!

Have you tried Marco Polo Import. www.marcopoloimport.com. I believe that they are the US Distributor for DML .

After sending them a request via snail mail and two contacts via their web site, they promised to send me the missing part. (They wanted my first born child as proof of purchase first!) That’s been over a month and as I indicated above, I’ve since been back to the hobby shop (of of town) that I purchased it from and they replaced the kit. Take my advise, if you purchase anything from DML / Dragon, you better count on your hobby shop or mail order shop to take care of you … CAUSE THEY WON’T.
