Anti Tank Missials

I forget what you call them but most units have several of them their hand held shoulder mounted rockets that you see on turetts and other things. What are they called, and is their a kit out their that have some modern ones in them and where can i find them, also where can you also find modern RPG’s and I would like to find some pics of both of them haning on the side or the turrets of the veicals. I’m adding some to a project of mine.

I think you’re talking about the AT-4. Dragon has several weapons sets, but I’m not sure if they have the AT-4, or the older LAWs rockets. I think there’s a Soviet weapons set that may have the RPGs.

Shouldn’t be too hard to scratch a few of the AT-4, it’s just a tube with some octagonal (I think) pieces on the endcaps. Add a strap and a couple small boxes for the sight covers and firing mechanism and you’ve got an AT-4.

Think that I saw a set of Viet Cong infantry with one figure clutching an RPG-7. Might have been from Dragon.

The only other RPG-7 that I have seen was included in the Tamiya 1/35th scale ACAV kit.

A/T Missiles and A/T Rockets…two different animals…of which are we speaking?

Sounds like he wants lightweight man portable types, not crew served, although the RPG would qualify for that. DML/Dragon did the RPG7 in their Israeli Para figure kit. I think it was a B-40 rocket launcher in their VC set. They also make a modern support weapons set that has various hand held shoulder fired rocket launchers such as the AT-4, 2 different models of M-72 LAW and the SMAW. Plus other goodies [;)]

hi., how are u?
I see that you look for launchable models from the shoulder, because the box italeri modern accesories, has several of them, mainly rpg, ademas of models of NATO, from the south -

I’m pretty sure this fellow is interested in the AT-4. Another may be the M47 Dragon.

M-47 Dragons can be found in the Tamiya Modern US infantry set and the Academy M-113A2 kit. I personally like the look of the commander’s mounted Dragon along with the .50 on the 113’s [}:)]

If he’s talking about current operations, then it’s the AT-4. Dragons have been out of service for a while now. They’ve been replaced by the Javelin system, at least in USMC stocks. Last time I saw a Dragon used it was 1997.

What about the MK153 SMAW. The Marine Corps has used them since the '80’s I think. Dragon did a set of Marine figures with one carring the SMAW. By the way, I used to be SMAW gunner. It was known as the loudest shoulder fired weapon on the battle field. “WHAT? DID YOU SAY SOMETHING?”…
