Another new member returning to the hobby

Helping my oldest boy with his first kit, he likes trucks so we are trying the Revell 78 GMC camo truck, box stock.

Here is a photo of our starting point

Nicely done indeed, especially in such a scale. I am very interested in seeing more of this build.
Thank you for sharing this picture.

Put the back of the cab on but left it loose at the bottom to allow the interior tub to go in

A great start. It is always good for the hobby to encourage newcomers. I hope you and your son enjoy your journey and that he becomes a model builder too!

Got the frame built and detailed up, looks pretty good I think. I didn’t care for how the front sway bar attaches just to the frame, but like I said, box stock … Considering removing the copyright off the left tank, may do that later. Should have worked the trans seam a bit, but like I said it’s his first kit.

Hello and welcome to FSM

Well we had a serious oops, the tube of cement had gotten a crack in it and leaked out on to the bottom of the body, melting about a 1/4 " hole into it while it was sitting in the box. I got it filled up with superglue and hardener, and roughed it in with a file but rescribing the door opening lines wont be any fun. any suggestions for doing that?
