I had actually built this model a long time ago when I was just learning to play around with painting and weathering effects. It was the MPC kit with the poseable legs and head. Well, over the years the rubber band within the next dried out and the neck and head fell off. I had moved away from model building by that time and just left things as they were. Well, after getting the bug to build another model and getting on here and seeing the truly amazing work everyone here can do, I got the interest to put the AT-AT back together and touch-up some of the weathering. I only took one pic so far, but I might post some others later on. So, tell me what ya’ think, and I hope it’s good enough for posting.
Looks great!!
Thanks, arnie. Much appreciated!
Nice job on the restoration! It’s funny, here at the office we were just talking about the old MPC kit of C3-PO, and how a rubber band inside the body held in the head and the limbs. For a while, anyway!
The Walker is one of my favorite SW kits. Here’s mine.

That looks great, Matt!! I forgot about the 3PO kit. I still have most of my Vader kit with the glow-in-the-dark eyes… but, without his right arm and lightsaber. Perhaps he lost a previous battle with a Jedi and was on his third arm by the time ROTJ rolled around. LOL!
I know that arm kept falling loose and eventually broke off at it’s hinge. I might have it somewhere, but since I was a kid when I built it back around 1980, it wouldn’t help the model much. I think Darth is a lost cause.
