An Idea for Jet Engine FOD Covers

Earlier tonight while at work I was Contemplating on how to mask off my EF 111 that I am painting and came across a possible idea for making FOD covers like you see at airshows ,Tiger Meets Etc.

Was thinking to use the Styrofoam from “Take Home Boxes” or something simular that is flat.
You could cut squares and Stack glue them to the desired thickness, then sand/trim to fit.
Possibly glue some tissue paper over the foam to get that “Vinyl” look that the dressy ones have plus add a Black piece of thread to simulate the pull off rope.

Is this a good idea,or is there anything better offered elsewhere

Just an idea

Cheers for that one , I was looking for a set for my 1/32 Phantom

Sounds like a good idea to me, let us know how yours turn out. I was going to go the difficult route and try to make FOD covers out of aluminum or styrene, but the styrofoam may just be better, you could cut it a little big and it would snug right into the intake.

That sounds like a terrific idea! Now why didn’t I think of that a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away? [alien]
