An aircraft guy having to ask for help from the armor guys. Seesh! (Aftermarket gun question)

Yes, I’m a usual aircraft guy, but for one of my future projects I need the aid of you armor modellers. What are the cheapest aftermarket gun barrels, in 1/72, that are still good quality? I’m looking at a 75mm gun barrel, and of course I have no idea what’s out there in the way of this sort of thing. (Don’t worry. An exact style or specific type isn’t important. Just 1/72, and 75mm.)

Don’t worry. It’s for a “good” cause. (Depending on how you look at it…) [:D]

[(-D] Thanks alot!

i’ve not looked into aftermarket barrels for 1/72 scale but the first thing that comes to mind is get a cheapy hasegawa 1/72 panther kit. they cost around $6 at my local hobby shop and are decent quality. they need some cleanup and are styrene but might be good enough.

Armo makes several turned metal barrels in 1/35th and 1/72 including numerous 75mm ones. The distributor for them is Jadar Hobby in Poland, jadar.com.pl. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Jadar Hobby’s service for overseas customers. In case you want a North American source, Mission Models, missionmodels.com, stocks some Armo stuff and they might place a special roder for you.

Here’s a direct link to the Armo 1/72 metal barrel line. No images, but at least you get the vehicles each barrel is for. Good stuff.

HTH,

Hey Mike, it’s nice to hear from a fellow Michigander!!! I looked through Squadron and found this. There are a few others in this category. I wonder how many understand the “wrist” description in your location?

I did a search under 1/72 armor acc. and there are a couple more in there. Good luck!!

Aber makes some really nice 1/72 scale barrels. I picked up several 37mm for various US vehicles equipped with that gun like the M3 Lee, M3 Stuart and M8 armored car. They have a 75mm as well.

Wait! Don’t help that guy! I think he is going to do that WWII german plane that used a 75mm gun (yes, a 75mm gun!) to blow our beloved AFVs to pieces. I don’t remember the exact plane, but It had two engines and was used against russian armor.
Well, of course I’m kidding. I hope Lucien gets all the help. Am I right about your project?

Doh!!! Fooled again!! I was hoping he was doing a B.25!!!

You can ask the question, but don’t get too close, you might get mud on you!!![;)]
